YOU CAN NOW LEARN FASCINATING DETAILS ABOUT YOUR GENES AND YOUR WELLNESS
TotalHealthGeneinsight full genetic report allows you to take advantage of the latest scientific research and how those advancements could impact your health. Most importantly, we don’t just deliver data. We provide education and recommendations on steps you and your physician can take to improve your health.
Genetic testing is easy, private and secure. A simple saliva sample is all that’s required and it’s more affordable than ever. Through an easy-to-read personal genetic report, you and your physician can learn about the genes you might pass to your children, drugs that may or may not be effective for you, and your predisposition to certain diseases.
HOW IT WORKS
It’s easy. First, discuss Genelnsight’s TotalHealth Genelnsight with your physician. Your doctor will orderthe genetic report or reports for you, and provide you with a Saliva Collection Kit, then you simply follow the instructions enclosed in the kit. Within weeks after submitting your saliva sample, Genelnsight will provide your physician with your personalized genetic report.
First, ask your doctor about Genelnsight’s TotalHealth Genelnsight service
Using Genelnsight Saliva Collection Kit, you provide a small amount of saliva. Your physician will mail your saliva sample to us, along with the ordering information.
We analyze your sample in a CAP and CUA-certified laboratory.
Typically within four weeks, your personalized results will be available to your physician. Your physician may want to meet with you to discuss the results, and he or she may release the reports for you to review on your own. In either case, our genetic counselors are available to ensure that you understand the information in your report.
YOUR GENETIC REPORTS CAN HELP YOU DISCOVER
Personalized medicine allows your physician to predict how you will respond to certain classes of drugs. Your unique genetic profile can determine whether a drug
is likely to be effective for you, whether you might experience side effects, and it may help your physician prescribe the best dosage for you. Our report includes your genetic predictors that may determine your response to Plavix, Coumadin, Tamoxifen, and many more.
Pre-Pregnancy Planning Insight™ (Carrier Status)
Choosing to have a child is one of the most important decisions in a person’s life. Our extended carrier status screening provides pre-pregnancy information on whether a person carries mutations associated with recessive genetic conditions. These diseases can be carried silently in a family for generations with no one being affected. If you and your partner both carry mutations for the same disease, your future child might get
the disease. We report on 70+ recessive genetic diseases including cystic fibrosis, beta thalassemia, Canavan disease, Tay-Sachs disease and many more.
Health & Cancer Insight™
The Health Conditions Insight Report provides information on your genetic propensity for common complex diseases. While this represents the latest science, the results represent relative risk calculations. Individuals who have an increased genetic predisposition for a particular disease may or may not get the disease; however, the information from Genelnsight report can prove to be useful for a physician in delivering more personalized care, especially when considered in combination with other factors, such as family history, environment and lifestyle. We provide reliable and trustworthy information from Harvard Medical School doctors on the diseases, including preventive steps that could reduce the risk of disease, as well as information on early detection. We report on 26 different conditions including cardiovascular diseases, common cancers, rheumatoid arthritis and many more. It is important to know that the number of conditions will vary by the reported ethnicity of the individual, as a result of the quantity and quality of genetic research available.
Comprehensive Genetic Reports
Genetics is just one part of your health. We ask each patient to fill out a personal survey, which includes questions about your family history, your diet and exercise patterns, as well as your health history. This survey information is used with your genetic testing results to give your physician a comprehensive report, which also includes lifestyle risks that may adversely affect your health. In addition to the genetic information provided in your personalized report, Genelnsight includes additional diseaseor condition-specific content provided by Harvard Medical School. This content is current, reliable and describes symptoms, treatments, and more.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER
Regardless of the type of information you are seeking, personal genetic reports offered by us can help empower you and your physician to make better health choices.
